Your starting plan

Updated 27 September 2026

Six quick questions build a starting plan: what to spend each month, what to save and where the money goes. It becomes your household's first budget, so Home isn't empty on day one.

How the plan is worked out

  • Income: the exact amount you typed, or the middle of the range you picked.
  • Saving: 25% if your goal is to save more, 20% for every other goal.
  • Spending: the rest. This becomes your monthly budget.
  • Your areas: amounts you typed are used exactly (You entered). Areas you left empty get a Suggested share of what's left.
  • Everything else: what remains, for the categories you didn't pick. It has no limit of its own.

If your amounts add up to more than the money to spend, the plan warns you but lets you go on.

Change it

Before you create your account, tap Edit next to any part of the plan. After that, change your budget on the Budget tab. See Set a budget and category limits.

Your answers

Your answers stay on your phone until your household exists. They are then saved with your household, so Finish setting up on Home can fill in your salary and rent for you. Only your household can see them. Forra never turns them into an income entry or a recurring bill; you decide that.
